January 11, 2021 | Chicago, IL
Today HealthJoy was honored in Built In’s 2021 Best Places To Work in Chicago Awards. Specifically, HealthJoy earned a place on the Best Places to Work and Best Midsize Companies to Work For lists for the second consecutive year and newly earned a place on the Best Paying Companies list. The annual awards include companies of all sizes, from startups to the enterprise, nationally and in the eight largest tech markets and nationally.
HealthJoy’s mission is to guide members to affordable, high-quality healthcare through a simple, unified experience. This is not an easy feat, especially while being fully remote due to the pandemic. In response, HealthJoy has doubled down on its employee experience and benefits to empower workers to feel and do their best.
The company provides robust healthcare benefits, flexible PTO, a 401k package, parental leave, a work-from-home stipend, a generous HSA contribution match, and access to the HealthJoy app which offers telemedicine, employee assistance programs, prescription savings, medical bill review, and more to help them stay healthy and well. Employees also stay connected while working remotely through virtual wellness activities and happy hours, volunteer opportunities in the Chicagoland area, lunch and learns, ‘friendship time’ pairings and ‘high five’ Fridays.
“As remote work continues, we’re committed to investing in our people and providing them the resources, benefits, and technology they need to do their best work virtually and build a fulfilling career,” said HealthJoy CEO Justin Holland. “But what makes us a great place to work isn’t just what we offer, but who we hire. I can’t thank my HealthJoy teammates enough for being the catalyst of our culture and continuing to propel our mission forward.”
Built In determines winners for Best Places to Work based on an algorithm, using company data about compensation, benefits, and cultural programs. To reflect the attributes candidates are searching for on Built In today, this year’s program weighted criteria more heavily, like remote opportunities and programs for diversity, equity and inclusion.
“These companies raise the bar for cultural excellence and the ability to adapt to meet changing needs of employees,” says Sheridan Orr, Chief Marketing Officer, Built In. “The 2021 winners show a commitment not just to creating meaningful cultures but to delivering talent needs as they change in a dynamic landscape. We’re thrilled to extend our congratulations to the winners.”
Tech professionals rely on Built In’s Best Places to Work lists to discover employers that align with their preferences, passions, and values. Since its inception three years ago, the award has expanded in reach, from online views of tens of thousands to just under 1 million views today.
